This is actually one of the reasons why I was reluctant to become a mod. Since I've never even been to the UAE I obviously don't know much about the cultural issues. Because of that I don't feel that comfortable when I have to warn people when an argument about these issues gets too heated. Sure, changing thread titles, dealing with all the investor stuff, etc is one thing but it doesn't feel right telling someone to shut up when you don't understand the ins and outs of what's really going on.

I actually think BDG would have made a good mod if she didn't go crazy.

Why are we even discussing who can be a new moderator? As of now, there are no plans of assigning a new mod.
