Well for what it's worth Credit Agricole started decommissioning on 16 December and all office workers are out now. I am sitting at a desk in the main HQ now, having survived the wrecking ball - I'm on Appold street right next to Broadgate Tower - not bad at all!

Did anyone else notice the bunch of public school types (gap year City interns I presume) holding a huge pillow fight in St Helen's Square last Friday? I thought it would get in the way of my tour of City building sites I undertook after my works Christmas lunch and I thought at one point I was going to get pelted!! Is this a regular thing? However, I got through and got a good look at the exhibition in the foyer of the existing building. I managed to take in quite a few sites: Broadgate, Heron, Leadenhall, 51 Lime Street and 20 Fenchurch Street. I didn't realise just what a turd of a building Norton Rose staff currently have to work in. It looks as bad as the old Home Office building where I used to work.

Sounds like a 'flashmob' to me. These are random events planned at a certain time, in a certain place over the internet. There was recently a pillow fight in Oxford too.

The local children were complaining the slope was too steep to slide down!

I'm glad we're treating this as a demolition thread for the moment. One step at a time my little chickadees. |

So when can we actually expect to see the heavy moving equipment move in: Feb - March 2007?
I bet the City will be none to pleased, they had to put up with demolishion before Willis, at least this building isn't concrete so may come down quicker. |

Smoggie and I had a brief cycle around the city this morning, and 122 Leadenhall Street was being emptied as we cycled past. Nowt exciting, but there were staff emerging from the bowels of the building with orange packing crates and what seemed to be bumper packs of toilet paper. Perhaps they can lend some to the excitable ones on this forum!

Given that people are working there still they must just be stripping out floors that aren't in use.

It's rather embarrassing having an official demolition thread for a building that is still partially occupied and has a crimbo tree up in reception FFS! It smacks of desperation. |

You won't see anything for a while as workers will start removing asbestos from sub-basement up to 3rd floor.
They will then erect external protection scaffolding ground to 4th floor. Last edited by jef; January 1st, 2007 at 03:19 AM. |
