What an odd design. Someone earlier in the thread said that it would most likely not be this tall or happen at all due to it being close to an airport.

It would be interesting to see finished though.

I fell out of my chair reading that ***** line, good one.

Interesting thoughts Mark, guess we'll have to sit back to see what unfolds.

All I know is something fishy is going on with the SSP stuff, the quick cover up of wet n wild's pools, the asphalt, Fontainebleau's trailers, etc.. and what's being presented could just be a ruse.

I don't like the shape of the Las Vegas Tower. Looks like a building from Star Wars. It could be more gallant and classy for a city like Las Vegas.

Futuristic is what makes it different. We have enough of the "classy" styles everywhere. Without a historical center like most other big cities, Vegas is the perfect spot for this without being out of context.

Not sure how this applies but Archon, the company selling the property, is having some problems and really needs to consummate the sale of the land, but, as mentioned earlier, LVTI LLC hasn't made their second installment yet.

I hope it will get built whether I like this design or not! I hope it will look much better in real world than rendering.

Simply massive...If the rendering is really to scale "as far as width" then it will be 450 meters wide at the base....Notice I said the base and not the Tower itself.

They added some construction office trailers to the site, poured a couple small concrete pads towards the north end of the lot, and are spreading some sort of dark gravel. Kind of wonder if this is all for Fontainebleau staging?

Great pic, thanks. Yeah, it looks like they are about to set those portable buildings down on the concrete pads they poured. I think you are right, it's all just staging for Fontainebleau. The LVTI guys must have split the rent between the Hilton and LVTI. Paved the back for the trailers and the front will be used for Font staging. Since the blacktop of the back lot half-covers the spot where the tower would go, it doen't look like construction was scheduled to start any time soon anyway. Maybe it will be like our friends across the street for PCC II where even if LVTI gets FAA approval next week, it will be two more years in planning before construction could begin. Fontainebleau is on a psycho-fast schedule with completion in only 18-24 months so the timing would be about right.

That photo only shows half of the lot, it extends that much more to the left of the picture all the way to Paradise Road. 27 acres total. All the cranes in that pit on the other side of those trailers are for a completely different project, Fontainebleau, which will be over 700 feet tall.
