I'm not sure if I've seen another tower that really looks like this... I've seen maybe one in Dubai that looks similar but not noticeably alike.

From my point of view, this tower bears very, very little resemblance to the Burj Dubai. If you compare the two buildings side by side, then it should be completely obvious. Yes, they both happen to be tall have have a three wing design. That's about where the similarities end.

Saying that they look too much alike would have about as much support as saying that the John Hancock Center and the old WTC towers looked too much alike because they were both boxes with spires.

The main similarity between BD and LVT is the team designing and planning them, they both have the same architect (SOM), structural engineer (SOM), MEP engineer (F&K), fire & life safety consultant (RJ) cost consultant (F&G) and wind tunnel consultant (RWDI). They both have sky lobbies, but so do some other buildings. The cores are somewhat different and the setbacks are very different. I think we can safely assume that the cladding is different. The similarities of shape are only in the lower floors, as you go up the the Burj loses the tripod shape sooner, but there are many other buildings in Las Vegas that have a central core and three or four wings, it's a proven megaresort configuration. And, obviously, the economic objectives of the two projects are very very different.

Do you know who MEP engineer F&K is? Is it Flack + Kurtz?

Yes, it is. Flack & Kurtz is also working on two other projects here in Vegas, the new Molasky office building and MGM Project CityCenter.

Unique in its ugliness....but it will have alot of the same characteristics as on building in Dubia...the BD....im guessing the city of Las Vegas will approve this building since Chicago has is 2000ft superspire coming along.

Im all for another massive skyscraper....
but this one, in its current form, is unimpressive.
with such height, I wish they could redesign the 'crown' to not end so blankly.

that is if they even build it?

Love it or hate it, I can't believe anyone would think there is anything remotely similar to this this anywhere in the world.

Personally,...I love the design.

This is a very nice and good looking building if its build, very futurisitic , looks like out of a sci-fi movie !

IMO this looks better than Burj Dubai, would be great if they build it taller then Burj Dubai !

Each individual has its own taste in architecture. Most of us expects that building to be very attractive not weird looking tower... I don't really big fan of this design but I support it because we need more taller skyscrapers in USA.
