Height restrictions is bogus i think

Look, if I'm a pilot and I am flying a plane, and in front of me is a really tall building,...........hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm lets see..............what should i do?..........hmmmmmmmmmmm.....Oh, I know.....'MAYBE I SHOULD FLY AROUND IT!!!!!!!

Real rocket science mentality there to figure that one out!!

They try to use that FAA horseshit excuse when the Stratosphere Tower was built. Did you ever notice that prior to the Stratosphere Tower.......ALL of the Vegas resorts were right around the same height (+/- 30floors)? Since the Stratosphere was constructed, there have been several that have gone much higher. I will NEVER accept that FAA stuff as a reason not to build a tall building.

This was inevitable. To be honest, I'll be surprised if the 350m version is built. It's not in the interest of the FAA to allow any highrises to be built, so they don't have any incentive to allow this, and since they have been given complete authority in this decision, I don't see it happening. They should take this design and build it in another city. Las Vegas will never become a city for supertalls as long as the airport AND the base remain in their current places.

The only place I can think of that I would want this design in Dubai would be the trunk tower on Palm Deira, but that's just me....

Not being built tall, probably won't be built at all.

It will definitely be built, even if they have to go down to the 700 foot level, but a taller building is important at that location in order to get noticed because most tourists enter the resort corridor from the south end of the Strip and Crown is at the north end. Crown is in the process of building an international network of casino resorts and they said that Crown Las Vegas will be their flagship property.

As an aside, casinos are illegal in Dubai, so it won't be built there, or at least not by "Crown". Maybe someone else will buy the design of the taller version.

I didn't know that casinos are forbidden in Dubai.
Well, I think Crown would be really the crown of Las Vegas.
It's beautiful structure!

They builds always so beautiful structures in Vegas and Dubai. My favourites are (from build ones) Emirates Twins in the Dubai and Wynn hotel in the Las Vegas.

Does anybody knows what that Las means in front of Vegas?

Well of course SOMETHING will have to be built on the plot, but I predict that whatever ends up there will not resemble the original project at all.

Yeah, you're right about that. The original design only works really tall. If you lower it and then make it wide enough for the same number of rooms you end up with just another wide three-wing "Y" shaped building like so many other megaresorts here.

Las means (from Spanish) "THE" and Vegas means "Fertile Valleys"
