Frankfurt is not just an Alpha City because the name sounds so beautiful.
Frankfurt is with London an Paris the most important City in Europe.
As we said above Frankfurt has one of the most important stock exchanges in the world an so on..
From Wikipedia:
"Frankfurt is the financial and transportation centre of Germany and one of the two largest financial centres in continental Europe, the other being Paris.
It is the place of residence of the European Central Bank, the German Federal Bank, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and the Frankfurt Trade Fair.
Frankfurt International Airport is one of the world's busiest airports, Frankfurt Central Station is one of the largest terminal stations in Europe and the Frankfurter Kreuz (Autobahn interchange) is the most heavily used interchange in Europe.Frankfurt is the only German city listed as one of ten Alpha world cities.

Frankfurt is sometimes nicknamed "Bankfurt", "Mainhattan" (a word-play with the local River Main and Manhattan) or "The Big ─ppel" (also a reference to New York City and the local "─ppelwoi", or apple wine, a type of cider which is produced and drunk mainly in the region "

Look here:

Frankfurt in Germany has the highest GDP of any European city
(GDP=Gross Domestic Product)

and here: (in german)

Hessen(Frankfurt is in the state of Hesse) is the most important paymaster of the nation. Look on the graphic! Look at poor Berlin.
I think Berlin should be happy that we send them our money!
Thats exactly what i meant.

No, only in places like this. It's really hard to find an overrating Frankfurtian outside of a skyscraper-forum.

Yep, guess BMXican already pointed in my direction

Here the update from last Sunday. Currently the first (doublesized) technical floor is under construction. When this finished the standard floors should follow. Construction should then speed up to 4-5 days for each level. The tower should be topping out in November.

And here some pics from the ground starting with the towers stationary concrete pump in front of the future main entrance.

A look onto the first floors of the nothern part...

...and into the impressive entrance hall and its massive pilars.

A view from the old opera...

A look between the buildings...

And finally whole ensemble...

thanks. the parktower looks great in the last pic. any idea how they're going to fill the gap between the opernturm tower and the podium building? is there going to be some kind of atrium?

4 days for one floor is the marching route, fine

I still don't like these "holes", balconies, on the dark part of the Parktower facade...

merci for the update!

The image is not very good... I think that the most prudently position is be patient and see her finished. Only in this moment we will can judge the building.

Thanks for the nice update, Tom!

Agree with you, Asterix. This is one of the earlier images still out of the optimization phase. And you have also to consider the tower in its context. There is already a highlight, the old opera, which shouldn't be topped too much. It is a simple design, but that is ok in this case. There is still enough space for more exciting designs in this city.

Check out this render, Krone23.
