Now Angola is fastest growing economy of Africa isnt it? I hope it becomes a shining beacon for whole of Africa and noncolonizer third world who suffered under transgression by westerners. |

Mbzancongo, just send a big "thank you" kiss to the USA, Russia and some others that virtually erased Angola from the world map, that helped to spread and entertain an image of horror, famine, blood and death and wiped out more than a generation of development, not to speak of the endless horro that was inflicted on the people of Angola......Angola could have been at the same lvel like Malaysia today or even Argentina after 1975, a country that would have helped to put a positive imprint on modern African development!!!! ![]()

Claro!!! Até numa optica religiosa o mundo demorou 7 dias a ser construído, e com apocalipse seria destruído em meros segundos.
E só para demostrar que as coisas devem ser feitas com calma, se queremos que elas sejam bem feitas..

Lets move on, this has been replayed too many times. Ghana should have been like Malaysia were it not for the socialist policies adopted by the 1st president and subsequent coups, cant change it, its happened.

matt, normally i haven't been so fond about the old pictures you have posted, but , let me confess to you that these last ones from today, touched me a lot because they reminded me places i used to go through.it is also true that they are before the independence, but the most of them still exist and i know them very well.you are a greatcontributor for this forum

Thanks Agostinho,
it is very interesting for me. Luanda was a very beautiful city and still is today, of course, only more of those beautiful old houses should be restored....and maybe for some time in the distant future, old Luanda could be declared UNESCO World Heritage site and be declared a no go for cars...but maybe my imagination already takes me too far and this won´t be feasible. What I noticed about old pictures of Luanda in particular is that big international companies had their headquarters (some even in high-rises) in Angola/Luanda: like Fiat (Italy), Mitsubishi (Japan), VW (Germany), MAN (Germany), Audi (Germany), Pepsi, Coca Cola, international banks, Jumpo hypermarket etc. I am a fan of old photos (not just from your country but the world over). For me they are very interesting and historic documents. |
