I don't think it's 3m per day. It's fast, but not that fast

I was sure there are at least a few days where they hit the 3 meter/ a day speed. It's almost one floor a day.

I'm amazed how quick this is going up! Anyway took this quick shot as it reminded me of something from the death star. Unbelievable to see it in real life!

It makes a change to see a building rising fast in London. If only planning approval and procurement was as fast!

I'd like to see the floor/steel work catch up with the core a bit more so its looks a bit more substantial.

At the moment its as if a weird concrete alien is appearing from a hole in the ground

From what I've seen so far the core rises for a few days, then stops. Then they focus on steel work and the core rises again. The core is always higher than the steel structure though. I think they can't immediately attach steel to the higher portion of the core, they have to give it time to cure.

The core of the London Bridge tower in which level is now?
Secondly, beside that stuff that they covered the core, will be concrete?

I belive this will be the first supertall skyscraper for EU.

I doubt Frankfurt and Paris will build the proposed ones soon...

Last time I saw it was on the 12th floor but it might have grown already. Concrete is what the core is made of.

Time for another photo update

As usual, there's too many to post all of them here (47 today) so these are highlights. The rest are in my Shard Gallery

The way things are going, it's going to be clearly visible from Tower Bridge pretty soon. You can just see the side of the slipform rig edging into the gap between two of Foster's buildings at More London.

The view from St Thomas Street/Bermondsey Street junction, to the east of the site.

compare with a shot from the same spot exactly one week ago

You can't miss the diversion of westbound traffic from St Thomas Street up Stainer street

Progress on the flooring on the eastern side of the core

Guy's courtyard is becoming a useful vantage point

And today was probably the last opportunity I'll have to shoot this view with my 17-40 lens and still get everything in the frame

Ever more complexity going on with the steel on the western side of the core

These little 'ledges' have made an appearance

I hadn't really paid much attention to them before, but these bits of rebar are in place at ground level at the south west corner of the core. Looking back, they've been there for ages, but I think that the filling in of the gap between the edge of the basement excavation and the core has made them noticeable, and there usually was a lot of other clutter round them. Anyhow, it looks like some more vertical concrete may be going in there at a later date.

More steel arriving on site

Big bundles of rebar, presumably to be used for the upward march of the core - some quite chunky diameters there.

Close up of recent steel put in on the north west corner of the site

and some steel erectors hard at work putting more in place. You can see the access lift for the slipform rig in the background of the first pic

One last view from the high level parade on Duke Street Hill, over the top of London Bridge Station
