Or it could be better to live in the present and design a building that is good as a building, or - lets cover everything in reinforced armour plating and not build higher than 3 floors.

Best attitude I think would be to do what is happening in Manhattan: it's why there is a scraper going up there and not a car park

Thanks . The update is not mine, the pics are from wawd.

I don't know about the crane but the core will stay like this for a few weeks. The steelworks do have to catch up.

Nice pics. Core looks like it's at level 21-22 in the formwork now. Wow, still 50 levels to go here!

Terrorism did not begin with 9/11. We're not exactly new to this in London.

You would have thought someone from Boston, the home of American support for Irish terrorism would realise that wouldn't you....

Lol what the hell when did I say terrorism began on 9/11 I love when people interpret things the wrong way and then pass it off as fact. Please dont quote me and then make assumptions on what I meant and take a shred of truth and explode it way beyond what was origionally said. Relax people, I simply made a statement saying that terrorism needs to be considered in all new construction since it cant necessarily be considered in something already built. Please now back to the shard.

so am i the only one who likes guy's tower? i think it's a great piece of brutalist architecture, and it will make for nice contrast with the shard. i hope they don't reclad it anytime soon, or ever.
