If you look carefully at the top of the frame, the crane you can see is the core crane

But there's a lot more to come and I expect the Shard to start appearing in many London touristic postcards once it's finished.

Aswell as the Gherkin just being a damn fine looking building. It won awards, didn't it?

From some of the renders i thought is was going to be a scrawny tower, but your right its quite imposing now, particularly when you get up close to it.

Ignoring the core obviously, does anyone else think it looks like a dodgy multistory car park in some pictures?

Definately great if that timelapse will be updated every week. But weren't they going to build a floor every 3 days, or is it still to early in the construction process?

And how about the cladding, I remember someone said that by the end of April the first cladding would be delivered or am I wrong?

As far as I can remember it was Mid to late May for the cladding. Also can't wait for the core to start rising again, should be any day now.

Obligatory note: more pics in my Shard Gallery

St Thomas Street

I hadn't noticed these concrete columns adjacent to the station before, seen here from Gate 2

London Bridge Street

Joiner Street, Level 2
