Please forgive the large images - hopefully the quality (perfect magic hour lighting) will make you forgive my posting... taken Sunday 30 May:

I like my Lumix FZ28's 28mm wide angle lens...

May I just say I was always doubtful that the finished Shard would look as nice and "clear" and reflective/translucent in the final construction - but now I see that because the building is angled back at 10 degrees or so that from wherever you are the building (if the sky is blue like here) will reflect the blue sky and the clouds... I have more belief that this skyscraper is going to look awesome when finished... enjoy - closeup of the glazing panels... looks close to the render now doesn't it!!!

What numbers can people see below the black SHARD/MACE band now?
I would presume you can add +2 to that to work out what floor they're actually pouring concrete on (that black band is about 2 storey's high). The building around the core is going to be really narrow at these floors - I reckon it narrows to about 7-10 metres or so before the core sets back a few metres for the first time.
I also imagine it will pause for a few weeks (like the Burj Dubai did) when they alter the core climbing mechanism to go to the narrower core. That'll happen in about 5 stories I'm guessing.

you can now just about see 30 on the core. The core stopped a few days ago to reconfigure the core layout for level 30. Now they are pouring again & will stop at 138m for the core step back (i think its currently about 110m - 120m). So as you say its only a matter of a few floors until it stops for the set back.

The Shard is around 112 metres high now, so close to overtaking Guy's Hospital.

Only about 42 floors left, which is about the same as some of the tallest skyscrapers in London. Gives some scope the the size of this project dosen't it?

So when do we think it'll overtake One Canary Wharf and become the tallest in London, England and Europe (not counting Russia)?

I'm guessing 1st December 2010. It'll slow down after the concrete core is completed - but the core according to Culwulla's diagram is higher than the current tallest.

You believe Canary Wharf to be tallest building in Europe? Spain? Germany? Russia?
