Wow! Great pics chest! I can't wait to see the glass go even higher. The cranes look like they'll have to jump soon.

Oh wow - so the cores got 34 visible! So maybe on 35 /pouring on 36? They seem to have slowed to a rate of about 1 floor every 5-6 days as 12 days ago it only had #32 visible.
Must be stopping soon - do we know what floor the core starts to setback? I remember reading somewhere the core would have to pause for some staircase reason too? Not sure what that was about.

What you can see from that last photo is how skinny the floor plate is going to be as it approaches floor 35. Literally after what's probably a 10m2 core you get about 5 metres of floor space before you hit that angled wall. Im sure the building will only about 5+10+5 metres across at that height. Probably explains why near the top there is only one apartment per floor. Can't be many hotel rooms per floor either.

It said somewhere they'd use a special glass manufacturing process that stops it from warping and causing bowed reflections - I'm really loving the look of the glazing. From >45 degrees it reflects all light it seems while from <45' it relfects some of the light - so it's going to look quite translucent from some angles and reflect the sky from other angles.

The core changes at level 38 so another 3-4 floors to go

This building really is going to look spectacular! I had thought it would look good right from the start, but seeing the glass go on...

This must be the only skyscraper I've seen in SSC presently going up where they are not waiting until it's topped out to put up the glass cladding. Why are they doing things so differently here?

Some photos from yesterday. Usual mention that there's more pics (75 in total from yesterday) to be seen in my Shard Gallery

From More London

Hays Lane

Glazing on Joiner Street becoming more extensive

Level 2 floor seems to be cast round to St Thomas Street now

The view from the bridge

with more of the SW corner glazing

Moving along St Thomas Street

and finally a couple of longer views

from Druid Street SE1

and the western end of St Thomas Street

An experiment by way of something a little different - it occurred to me that a stitched panorama doesn't have to be horizontal, so I fired off five shots in a vertical stack.

It might be worth repeating under slightly more controlled conditions.

I may have another from later in the day in the works - got to see how it pans out, as it were...

Do we know if that big spike coming from the backpack/ station area is still going ahead, and does it have a function, or just 'for looks' ?

Yes, they still plan to include it, as far as I'm aware. Height will be 150m. It's just for decoration I think.
