No he said it was a plastic bag. (see above the picture).
However if it was a dead swan it would be sad, though.

Definitely agree it is a great shot.

Anyone know how high the core is now? It's so high we haven't had good shots of the floor numbering lately. Looks like around ~50th floor to me.

Photos taken this morning. Gorgeous weather today in London, a true Indian Summer.

Guess where this was taken from?

Yes, great pics. I guess that this section of core must be very close to completion and we will soon see the third stage emerging. One thing about a tapering shape is that, there is less to build the higher you get and the next few storeys should shoot up.

And btw, this one has reached yet another milestone: it's now the first and only building in Britain to have more than 50 floors.

That Shard is pretty hot and lonely! She needs a handsome guy like the WTC1 by her side.

Some other photos from yesterday. I only took my 70-200 lens with me, but it affords some close cropped views of the glazing, getting a feel for how it will be complete.

From Hays Lane to the North of the site

NW Corner glazing

and for a little added foreground interest: the last remains of Richard Seifert's New London Bridge House

On London Bridge Street

The 'slash' appearing in the glazing on Joiner Street

Two similar shots from slightly different angles to illustrate how it changes in the light. I think it's the same colour glass as the rest of the main panels and the difference in tone is entirely down to reflection and a small change of angle, but I couldn't be completely sure.

SW view of the core at level 51 from St Thomas Street

NW view of the core from Tooley Street

Very nice updated pics of this fantastic tower! It's just hard to believe this is the first building over 50 stories in all of Britain!

I'd say something between 160-170 metres.
