Can anyone tell me where will be the best public viewing place from which to see the Shard and Pinnacle when complete? St. Pauls? (seems a bit far away though) There's a picture that looks like it's taken from tower bridge that looks ideal for viewing the shard and city cluster. Can you get up there for public viewing?

London Eye will forever be the place to go to get the best view. I'd say St. Paul's would give you a preferable pano though.

London aye is too far away from the city to get a good view.

Tower bridge's viewing platform is open to the public, it has great views of the city, shard and canary wharf.

'The Monument' in London will also have great views of both the city and the shard.

The Heron tower will have public space on it's upper floors, and might have a great views of the Pinnacle and the shard.

Cannon Bridge would also be a perfect spot to view the Shard. There is also a nice roof garden up there.

Hmm, that's good to know. I hope the tower bridge platform is outdoors, that's the best way to view. thanks

Tower Bridge's platform isn't open, The Moument's is, although there is some safety fencing around the balcony.

Tower 42s Champage Bar on the top floor will have an insane view of the upper half of the Pinnacle, and already has a fantastic view of the Shard..

If you look in the lower half of the below image you can make out the aforementioned 'Monument' with it's gold top.

This image being from September

The bar is open to the public, just be sure to book first.

I suppose you are referring to the Emir of Qatar and yes, he visited Britain in late October and was hosted by the Queen.

Lurvly pics. It must be at 60 floors now. They should re-name it "the chimney".

Ta. Yes, 59 was showing with lots of clear space above this morning, so it's at 60+ inside the rig.
