I think it's supposed to be completed by May 2012, two months before the Olympic Games. I don't know if being completed means being open to the public though.

At this rate of construction, I doubt that we will have to wait until 2012 to see the tower externally completed. I last visited in January, when the slip-forming had just started and look at it now. I would expect the rate of floor construction to increase over the next few weeks as the shear area of each floor plate diminishes.

And in some of cyber's pics, you can see they are already doing the plumbing in lower floors.

The core perhaps, but not the overall tower.

I'm thinking its going to be T/O completely (the glass "spire") by probably...summer of 2011? Maybe even fall? I dunno, that's just an educated guess!

Yes I was refering to the core, although the overall tower should be completed before 2012 (the exterior at least)

yeah i would say late summer 2011 for exterior completion bearing in mind the floors from now on will be concrete and will take a little longer to rise....the plan is to open the tower in spring 2012 I am not sure if this means the whole building but I would image they would want the viewing galleries and hotel open for the Olympic games.

I'd also blame your Board of Education, but that's for another thread.

If I make it to London for the Olympics, I will have to visit this place. I'm sure every shot possible will have been taken from the observation deck by then, but hey, I always try to get something original.
