I think that's the most beautiful glass I've ever seen on a skyscraper...

Love London. Watching this go up is like watching the birth of a new generation of skyscrapers.

Am so glad London waited so long before building upwards. A lot of the cities that reached for the sky during the 60s, 70s and 80s are full of ugly bland concrete boxes today. London on the other hand will be a beacon of great skyscraper design for years to come.

London FTW! It's a beautiful city.

In June 2011 I'll fly to Los Angeles (with British Airways) but I have to make a stop at London - sadly just at the Heathrow Airport and only for 1 hour
But does anyone know if you can see the Shard from Heathrow?

At Coit Tower, the first night the pinnacle lighting at Transamerica blazed up, there were gasps, applause and cheering. A moment to look forward to in London.

If the plane makes the approach from East, you'll fly over central London, so probably.

I'm not sure if you'll actually be able to see it from Heathrow, but as PortoNuts said, you'll probably fly over London (the planes I've been in do an 'S' shape over it so you'll really be able to see the city before you land) so you might well see it from the air.

Thank you for your answers. I'll fly from Munich (Germany), so maybe it is possible. Would be great!

I flew a few times from Munich to London/Heathrow and you will have a fantastic view
of London when you sit on the right side at the window !

I'm so **** about my desktop. I need at least a 1200x1900 image or the slight pixelation will throw me into an OCD loop of hell!
