Who on Earth decided to put that piece of ugliness into one of the most beautiful cities in the world? Are city planners out of their mind? I am glad French are smart enough to build that sort of buildings in the outskirts. At least Paris will remain real beauty!

Paris has a well-preserved, uniform, cityscape whereas London is a mess of old & new thanks to bombing and 1960's planning. This wouldn't be built in Kensington or next door to Buckingham Palace, but as it is the area around London Bridge station is a mess of nondescript Victorian buildings and 1960's lumps which the Shard adds to, not detracts from.

he might be referencing the weird aerial thing that appears on top of the backpack in some renders, I think it looked around 70m. But no definite proof if it will appear or not.

Its a nice very-very tall building. I am happy it will be tallest of The UK for a long time so it has a title.

Thanks, there has been a good progress even though it's not as noticeable as it was when the core was growing.

Amazing photo, just love the colour glass, its so crisp and clean and gives us a hint at how beautiful it will look when it is finished.

What's with the four windows tilted in at the top? Ventilation? Not finished installing?

I believe those windows are designed to open for the window cleaning system

Apologies for my absence of late... work has been busy.

Anyhow, here's a few pics from yesterday that I was able to grab from Tower Bridge Road.
