That's the height it's been pegged at since the core was topped out in December, yes.

The rest of the structure is catching up.

Every bit closer the Shard comes to completion really just reinforces how ugly the hospital next to it is. I hate to be one of those guys saying "ooo, shiny cladding", but I don't know how else to rescue that building from aesthetic poverty.

OK, here's some another selection of photos from yesterday. As usual, there are more to be found in my Shard Gallery.

I make no apologies for the number of them that concentrate on the cladding.

A couple more from lunch time...

From Tower Hill

With 3 More London and the GLA Building in the foreground

On my way to catch the train home in the evening...

Peeking down the 'canyon' of the More London development

NW corner backlit by the setting sun

North side

SW corner from the bus station

NW corner glazing wings

West side tower crane being taken down

West side glazing

My favourite is probably the first picture, an absolutely beautiful shot that gives us a great idea of what the facade will look like on completion.

I really hate Guys too but what can you do, it's a hospital. What's the latest on the cladding situation for it?

Every time I see pictures of The Shard in the sunlight I feel optimistic about the future of London. I don't know why though.
