The rendering is somewhat exaggerated. I also see a number of changes to the design since that rendering, so it will be interesting to see how those changes affect the shape of the crown.

It's a shame the gapping between sides as seen on the render isn't as wide and pronounced as it is currently. Also really wish that the sky lobby was as visible!

Yeah, that's the main change in the design I wonder about Matt because that did play into the crown design in that rendering.

Perhaps there's about to be a shift in the shape given what I see at that corner just above where the glass is topped out at.

Whats the monstrosity of a building on the left, the tall one?

Shame it wont be as tall as it appears in the render, but great project!!

^ i second that mate and i reckon the shard would look much better if it stands alone (like tour eiffiel) without any competitor next to it

What's that more transparent section seen in the render and in the actual building? Is that the hotel lobby?

Plans for the hospitals reclad were approved last week by the planning authorities, should start sometime in the next few months if they stick to the plan...

I have a feeling the crown will be basically the same, however just slightly less geodesic at places. Flat cladding, as it is now, will probably take it's place. As long as it appears airy and light like in the renders, I'm happy.

That picture is brilliant!
I'm starting to get an idea of how amazing this building will look when complete.
One of my favourite photos of the shard so far!
