^ it was great and it is a good place to see the shard's progress in the city skyline, if you don't mind waiting in the 45 minute queues

Naah. The architectural height of the Eiffel Tower is 300m and 65cm. Anything above that height was not designed by Monsieur Eiffel or any other architect. It's just functional communications antennae, etc.

Looking glorious in the sun.

Those guys landing at London City are lucky with the views and so are those landing at LHR when they are doing it East-West.

It looks ridiculous big in the second picture posted by Mossy22. Those commie blocks close to the shard looks like small matchboxes.
