FAQ: The red things on The Shard are the blind boxes. The blinds themselves will be grey.
I knew that is what they were for, but this only raises more questions...

On the inside, yes, I'm fairly sure.

I expect they arenít actual blinds but just the red boxes or something to keep with the design of the building, some are much shorter and would only cover half the window when lowered.

Yes perhaps, however when the real grey blinds are installed, the rollers in the regular windows will no longer be red. They will then look grey... leaving these end sections still red.

Hmmmmmm????

No, the boxes are still red, even when the grey binds are fully down.

P.S. Nicely defined Traps Traynor.

But the blind boxes are not red at all... The roller that holds the blind is red. Assuming the grey blind will be spirally-wrapped around that roller... then it will appear grey, not red.

All except these outside windows, whose rollers will have what on them exactly?

(P.S. Thanks... It's a lot of work for a guy my age.)

I'm sure this has been asked a lot but what are the angled rectangular sections of cladding about around halfway up the tower?

?

The blinds are wrapped up inside the red box, not around the outside of it. It's a blind box, not a roller.

Ummmm... Look closely at one of your own pictures you posted:

Clearly the red thing is dowel shaped and not a "box" but lies within a box... Hence my assumption that when the grey blinds are installed, they will wrap around this red rod and roll up into the box that contains it.

Unless you are implying that the grey blinds will roll up into the red thing and the red things will remain visible throughout the whole facade, with grey blinds below them?
