Unless you are implying that the grey blinds will roll up into the red thing and the red things will remain visible throughout the whole facade, with grey blinds below them?
That's exactly what I'm saying. The blinds get drawn downward from their furled position inside the red tube.

I'd wager the blinds are already inside them when the glazing units are installed.

In other news, TC5 appears to have gone completely now

My comment got lost last page, so I'll ask again. What is the purpose of the angle portions of cladding around 28ish floors up?

I believe it has something to do with the construction but can't go into specifics. Sorry.

@cyber: that is huge.

They're the doors for the cleaning equipment on the plant levels.

They tip in and slide up - they're ajar for the moment.

Using the Shard Baby's diagram on the London thread as a reckoner, there's another five or so concrete levels to go before the steel starts again.

The Spire will rise from levels 72 up to 87. The apartments stop at 65. The viewing gallery is inbetween these (67 - 72). I'm not sure if the concrete floors will continue up to level 72 for these levels or be replaced with steel at level 65. Thoughts?

Brilliant! Thanks so much! This is what I had a luring suspicion it was.

A couple more stitched panoramas for the weekend, though these were taken on June 21st, when the base of TC7 had just been put in place. I only just got round to putting them together.
