Id say the opposite - nice shape, but not sure about the cladding, infact I have more and more doubts about it, it looks flat and dull.

Stunning renders. I suppose everyone who was in doubt regarding what the 'Baby Shard' was can see it know.

Now that comes rather unexpected. Thank you for posting!

That's the first time I realize there will be a second midsized building attached to it.
What is its purpose? Is it just offering more office space or will it serve as some sort of entrance building too? Though both buildings don't seem to be connected above ground. Thanks.

I still can´t believe that the cladding on the renders matches with the actual one. It seems lighter to me, which is far away better than present situation

Please, no more OT discussion about whether Russia/Moscow is part of Europe or not, or other unrelated things. This topic is about the Bridge Tower project in London, nothing else.

Don't make any efforts to leave the topic, it is a waste of time since it will all be deleted. Feel free to PM each other or open skybar threads if needed. Cordial thanks for your attention & understanding. Regards, Erbse

Sometimes a look at the first post of a thread doesn't hurt, does it?

Its a separate office block by Piano around 80m which along with LBT forms what the developer is calling the London Bridge quarter along with a revamped London Bridge station.

Im still confused as to how the crane will be demolished once the building is completed. If this has been answered I apologise, I must have missed it.
There wasn't much activity on site this weekend. I walked by around 7:30pm and it was completely shut down. This surprises me as I believe theyre currently around 2 months behind the schedule they indicated in the original promotional video. Im happy to stand corrected if I'm wrong.

Regarding the smaller office building next to the Shard.

Quote:
Plan for ‘Shard’ skyscraper companion

Sellar Property Group, the developer behind the regeneration of the area around London Bridge, has unveiled plans for a 17-story office block opposite the rapidly growing “Shard” skyscraper.

The 430,000 sq ft building, which has been dubbed “the Place” and also designed by Shard architect Renzo Piano, will cost about £137m to build, but is expected to have a completed development value of close to £500m ($814m).

Irvine Sellar, chairman of Sellar Property, said that this was one of the largest speculative buildings being built in London. He described it as a key part of the wider £2bn London Bridge Quarter, which includes a new station concourse, public piazza and underground retail mall, as well as the Shard itself. The new building will be completed by the second quarter of 2013, or about a year after the Shard is due for completion.

The developer has already begun to talk to potential tenants, which are expected to be in the media and professionals services sectors, with an average rent expected to be about £55 per sq ft. This is in line with the top rents being achieved in the City at present, although there is expected to be further rental growth in the next few years owing to a wave of lease expiries and a lack of new office supply.

this is the state of play with the smaller office building next to the Shard - the black core next to the red crane is up to about 3 floors (as of yesterday when I passed by)

Impressive construction of skyscrapers, beautiful and really advanced the remaining tower.

As for the smaller annexe I love its design, will be a very nice complex. Congratulations London!
