The reason why people compare the Shard to the Transamerica pyramid and the Ryugyong hotel is because each building has a rather similar silhouette

that above picture was taken today and i think the colour of panels change depending on sunlight and the weather condition.

Looks like it is topped out already and once they reach that point, there just be fins being added as of that point on.
