Many thanks to Chest for these. The London Skyline has changed massively since 2000.

Is it my imagination or has that staircase got much larger since yesterday?

From the control tower of the former Croydon Airport, about 11 miles south of The Shard.

Cybertect I just came out of Waterloo on the train and the stairs looked the same but I think some steel has gone up.

Top of the Gherkin peeping over them is pretty cool.

I'm just somewhat surprised that it's possible to read SHARD on the side of a building over 11 miles away

This thing must be visible from a number of angles not photographed yet.

This tower will really propel London into the 21st Century.

Just a shame about that piece of shit hospital next to it. They should rip that thing down immediately.

Yes and just abandon the ill in the streets, sounds reasonable.

London doesn't need to have millions of scrapers to 'propel' itself into the 21st Century. Biggest financial district, high density and VERY multicultural city... Hundreds of buildings dating far far back, history everywhere you go - London has been around for a very long time.
I doubt you'd find many cities in the world like London... or is that because we're still too far behind?

That piece of shit hospital is a hospital. God, people are so thick... so many countries in the world with poor health benefits and here you are complaining about one of the tallest hospitals in the world. Ugh.

Huge thank you to you all for the photo contributions.
