From what I read on here, it will be a dull glass.

The cladding on the bank of america building is amazing; so many different directions of lines. I love the angles of the glass faces, and the way they join so cleanly, solidly and sharply. Much prefer it to the overhanging pannels that the shard has, which I fear will date quickly and would have been more appropriate architecturally for smaler buildings.

We will need to wait for the top but also for the white paper to be removed and the windows to be cleaned before we see if it works anywhere near as well as the bank of america tower.

I don't know what sort of cladding people are expecting, according to The Shard's Ranzo Piano, the glass/panels are meant to be transparant colour pure glass, not blue nor darker colour like 1WTC for eg. But, let's wait until it's completey done.

Lovely tower, looks a bit asian like it belongs to China, but will do great for olympic games. http://955.cc/ad

Are they going to have some sort of LED lighting scheme for this tower once completed?
