Hi, "the" (our?) galaxy is NOT infinite. Otherwise good post.

You'll have to complain to this German lady called Ulrike Kn÷fel for having stated that (she is the author of the Spiegel article that I quote)

I happen to disagree with her as I find Mercury City quite cutting edge and not kitschy (for the later we must look for to US cities like Las Vegas)

Great work, there you see clearly the clusters. In the future there should be more towers around the Shard and the Guy's.

It is infinite in space, finite in time, yea i kno!

Edit: i also know that we call it infinite in space, but the only thing we know for real is that the non-observable universe spans about 48 billion lightyears minimum (yes, Hubble-style!)

Time for an update after the Xmas break.

A selection of pics from Friday afternoon. The rest can be found in my Shard Gallery.

Glass cleaning on the East side

The completed Shard section on the north side from Druid Street and Tooley Street

Pedestrian bridge gone

which affords a few other opportunities

The Backpack reflected in a large puddle at the junction of Stainer Street and St Thomas Street

From the east end of St Thomas Street

The spire

Great shots, Rob! Looks like you've been quite consistent with the St Thomas street view, would be interesting to get a nice side by side of the lot upon completion.
