No, it's a private development. Although the opening of the viewing gallery in time for the Olympics won't hurt!
Projects being built for the Olympics include, the Orbit (115m sculpture with viewing gallery), a walkway over the roof of the O2 (the Dome) and a cable car over the Thames.

the highest building here in holland is only 165m !
probely that will change in the comming years.
london is a great city for skyscraperfreaks like me !!

Ok, I'm getting conflicts here. Emporis and the CTBUH say that the Shard will be 306 m or 1003 ft tall, yet other places (like this site and Wikipedia) are saying it's 310 m tall. So, which height is correct? 306 or 310?

Maybe by using an inaccurate converssion from feet to meters?
