No, not a chance. Perhaps on an extremely clear day you could see the Channel from the Shard, but not all the way to Paris. And from the Eiffel tower, you can only see about 80km. I think anything over 300km the curvature of the earth starts to take effect unless you are thousands of feet up.

The same story as if you see the sunset and then you go with a lift up to a high tower you will see the sunset again.

When I look at the Shard a see a church steeple. Pitch seems to be pretty close between the two spires.

The ET is huge. The base of it really spreads out. What I never new until
I saw it in person is that is painted kind of a brown color.

Hi,

if my calculations are correct then the tip of the Shard should be 5.945 km high to see the tip of the Eifel Tower.
I assumed a perfect sphere for the earth, distance 340 km (radiant), radius 6378 km, and that both towers are on the same longitude...

Yeah but the diagram is wrong. The top observation deck of the Eiffel Tower is 276m, but the SSP diagram shows it at almost 300m.
