Its amazing how much the gaps in the cladding prevented the 'soar factor' which seems to have so quickly appeared!

Absolutely astonishing. It's a crown jewel in that location.

Has the glass been fully cleaned or is the weather making the cladding appear very reflective?

I don't envy the people working on that structure at that level. One thing that surprises me is that the crane driver must be working blind in erecting those final sections of shard - especially when they are on the opposite side of the tower from his cab.

I guess that the crane has not been erected any higher for stability reasons but they must have some sophisticated communication system in place to ensure safety.

this building looks absolutely fantastic! all those haters saying the cladding is awful...what are they talking about?! the last few weeks of construction (adding the spire sections to this building and completing the glazing) have really transformed this building.

not yet.
Thats whats great about the shards cladding, from some angles and in certain light conditions its transparent, in other conditions its highly reflective...its a constantly changing building, its so interesting to watch.

Id love it if someone did a time laps video of the shard, a photo each day. You couldnt get bored of it!

Its gonna look incredible once the cladding has been cleaned up. Its filthy up close and yet its still so reflective. You wait till its cleaned up.

I really like this building. I'm glad London is finally getting some proper supertalls.

I think it would look fantastic with some LED lighting strips down the sides at night.

That was a one night lighting scheme for the release of Star Wars on Blu Ray IIRC. It's a light sabre

Transparant: No Internals yet.
Dirty: Still being built, check the bits they cleaned to demonstrate.
