I'm no fool

Ah OK. Didn't know photoshop could do that, I use it at work but well, let's just say when ImageReady existed I mostly inhabited that because it was more than sufficient for my needs. I use an open source thing called Hugin to stitch panoramas and it seems to work well in 'wizard' mode most of the time, but every time I've tried tinkering it goes horribly wrong, and I don't think it's suitable for more "artistic" collages like that.

Beautiful building too, it is surreal to see it now virtually completed after spending so many years wondering if it'd ever happen!

I agree it's odd to see it nearly completed now, hard to believe.

Does anyone find it odd how we all knew about the Shard way back in 2005, mention it to anyone and they would likely stare at you in bemusement? Now I hear people chatting about it on the street and in pubs, say to anyone 'have you seen the shard' and they will know immediately what you are talking about

London has a very weird skyline. It's not unique, and neither is it generic. It's some kind of random jack of all trades.

the good thing is that london has two major financial districts and the clusters have completely different approach when it comes to the architecture. on the other hand you've got the canary wharf for those who like north american style skyline made up of boxy towers and the city contains futuristic and iconic designs like cheese grater, walkie talkie, the shard (sw), cucumber, heron and the gherkin (very obvious one) etc.

here is a fantastic pic taken by our talented photographer and a brilliant contributor cybertect
