I think it wasn't posted before. London gets similar to the cover Iron Maiden's album "Brave New World".

And it gets better as that render only shows current buildings (except shard) does not include others about to start construction ie The Pinnacle and (maybe) 20 Fenchurch st + 122 Leadenhall. Not forgetting the Heron which is flying up now.

Why would they do that? The marketing people probably decided to obliterate every other tower. Lame...

Construction of Europe's tallest building the Shard will begin in March according to developer's Sellar Property Group.

Demolition of the old Southwark towers is now virtually complete and piling work will be carried out between now and March.
Contractor Mace will begin construction work at the London Bridge site in March with completion expected in the second quarter of 2012.
The 310 metre high building - roughly the same height as New York's Chrysler Building – will become the tallest in Europe.
A Sellar Property Group spokesman said: "The contractor has been appointed and the funding is all in place.
"We hope to start construction in March with the expectation of completing the project in the second quarter of 2012."
In December Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company agreed to inject cash into the project that has been dogged by rumours that it would never be built.
The developer of London Bridge's Shard tower is reported to have agreed a price of about £425 million for the scheme with Mace.
The sum is a saving of about £10 million on the fixed-price bid that Mace submitted two months ago, but is still about £75 million above the original estimate of £350 million.

Apparently some journalist think that Moscow ins't in Europe.
Its been a error that has been going on for years, and journalists don't seem to like doing a bit of research.

Or it may mean the European Union.
The problem is that Russia is so big, people don't know which parts are in Europe and which parts are in Asia.

Russia is being included everywhere.

Continental Europe includes parts of Russia (that include Moscow). This part is still big enough to make Russia the biggest country in Europe.

The only place that Russia is probably never going to be included is the EU.(and OPEC)

Wow! When was this announced?
Well, I must say my first impression is very positive indeed, they will fit in well with the Shard, since they are of the same 'style' - i.e. slender glass. They will also fit in well with the skyline...they definitely work for me!
The only concern for me is that it says Boris Johnson has the final say on whether they will be built or not. Hopefully, he will approve them since he has approved towers outside the City, Canary Wharf and Croydon before. High hopes!

Ok, firstly, these are not official renders of those new towers. They wont look like that.

Also, Boris Johnson doesnt have the final say, as far as I am aware - the Govt. have the final say.
