I think you probably mean 'simple' - simplistic is usually negative, meaning oversimplified, as in lacking sufficient depth.

I love the Shard in the deep-blue sky. It looks so modern and futuristic.

It's great that London's skyline is becoming so iconic. How does Prince Charles feel about these new skyscrapers?

Yes, it is quite impressive. Sad to be living in a declining skyscraper city like Chicago, in which projects that had been taken for granted had to be totally scrapped and new skyscraper construction has hit a complete standstill for nearly a decade while dozens of cities (including London) on three continents threaten to surpass its skyline in both beauty and scale. One thing is for sure, Chicago has already lost one of its main bragging rights - its Top 3 skyline. That hurts for a city that has prided itself and invested so much of its identity and reputation in its architecture. Is it still in the Top 10? Yes, but for how long? With a fast-declining population, no one in Chicago sees anything promising on the horizon for many years while growing cities in Europe, Asia and the Middle East surge ahead with monumental growth on super-aggressive timelines that American cities (except for NYC) could only dream of. The world has changed a lot in a decade.

A decade ago, absolutely no one would have placed London even in the top 50 when thinking of world-class skylines. Now it's clearly the leader in Europe and getting stronger every year. It's not just quantity, it's the overall high quality of the projects that impresses me. The Shard is a masterpiece.
