seems plausible by the look of wtc 1 design that there are two original buildings merged together but only wtc 1 architect knows for sure.

I'll try to find David Childs' email.

The article doesn't seem to mention what the forumers are writing...

The closest thing I could find, is this:

Quote:
But it will also include reminders of the twin towers it will replace.

The roof above the public observation deck will be at 1,362 feet, the height of old South Tower, while a glass wall will rise 1,368 feet, the height of the old North Tower.

"In subtle but important ways this building recalls what we lost," said architect David Childs.
Unfortunately, it doesn't state whether or not it is supposed to be a "fusion" of both Towers. But thank you for posting the link.

I can't find the article I read. It's been years plus it was a news paper.

No offence, but Why does Conde Nast have to move to 1 WTC?

Traynor, You have posted a number of times on this forum, very honorably and eloquently, I might add, that forum members should be more respectful of each other in their postings yet you yourself sometimes post messages that appear to be biting and disrespectful. Why do you do that? We all have our moods, but I would think someone who so adamantly encourages respectful dialogue would himself practice it more consistently and disagree more respectfully when you see the need. It's not that hard to do. So, what gives?

Also, this issue was not a matter of opinion, it was a matter of knowledge. Traynor, if you don't know something, research it before taking advantage of your "respected" reputation here for making groundless assertions that have no basis in fact. This only derails the thread and there's no reason for doing it.

Also, does anybody know what is the exact length (in feet) of any of the 4 sides of 1 WTC at the top of its base (the "20th" floor)?

Very astute of you to notice... I'll tell you what's up:

At first, I treat everyone with respect and I never insult the person but I address my remarks to the point being made... That is proper debate form and acceptable Internet forum etiquette.

UNLESS...

Someone attacks me personally first... Then I will let them have it.

The new forumer in question, was disrespectful to me for no reason. He called me out for responding nicely to someone about the tower's octagon floor. I didn't want to sound insulting to someone who was misinformed so I just said his logic was on the right track but then have the right information.

So the new guy could have just added his opinion and said something like:

"Hey, actually, I did the math and..."

But he didn't. He had to call me out at the same time and insult me in order to boost his own ego and promote his math skills. Then he went on and on about "his" math for two more pages and did the same on another site. As if he INVENTED Calculus himself. I find that kind of boastful, ego-driven behaviour very distasteful and when I found a flaw in his more recent comments I pounced on it.

Two wrongs don't make a right but it feels damn good.

I don't mind people jumping in with the right answer when they have it but being a DB about it and disrespectful and disdainful of everyone else is unnecessary.

Really???

Equidistant?

EQUIDISTANT?????

Look up what that means and then tell me if ALL the sides of an octagon can be equidistant.

Before you go being so snarky to other forumers whom you don't even yet know, make sure everything you type is perfect. I will be watching for grammar and spelling mistakes too.
