1 WTC alone surely won't dominate as much as the twins did in the 70's, especially with the eyecatchers 2 and 3 WTC nearby. And the four different conceptions together are way to complicated to be as iconic as this radical design: II. When finished, this was a sheer sensation then - World's tallest multiplied with two, standing seperated from the now "tiny" looking downtown giants. IMO the new WTC design instead tries to link to the classic Wall Street cluster and to be its new climax... I guess this might work well.

So good to see the first WTC tower go beyond 250 m now.
Ahh, too many pronouns! I tried and got some of it, but overall, I can't make sense of what you just said..

I'm beyond sick of these pointless and asinine New vs. Old arguments in regard to the WTC.

So please, judge for yourself and be silent.

Here's one more render I found on my hard drive: probably posted a few times before, but probably not everybody has seen it yet, so...

Those renderings put things in better perspectives. I doubt anybody would come up with excuses this time around.

As you can clearly tell from this render, 2 WTC will completely obscure 1 WTC from the iconic Brooklyn Bridge vantage point the same way the Beekman Tower already does from the Manhattan Bridge. Even when built to its pinnacle height, those two towers will continue to obscure 1 WTC from those vantage points.

Who is gonna take over 4 Times Square after Conde Nast leaves for the WTC?

Thanks for the pictures Carlos. Very nice.

Can you actually hang out on your balcony and watch the structural steel hauled up by the crane and put in place?

getting pictures of the crane jumps would be really cool too :-)
