I think the buildings are great. WTC 1 is turning out to be allot better than i expected. Mainly because of the windows. Looks very sharp.

1 wtc is a memorial for the lost twin towers not a mines is bigger than yours contest their is plenty of other opportunities to build taller buildings in the future.

No 1WTC isn't a memorial. The waterfall of the footprints of the twin towers, is the memorial. 1WTC is being built to replace, the office space that was lost.

And an other thing i am sick and tried of people saying that spires or not true height factors as long as is is part of the original design it is get over it just and other cop out i bet people are going to use that excused when 1 wtc is finished when comparing it to the willis tower .

Ok here a point I'm going to make about, this building and the sears tower. If they wanted the roof to be higher, it would be higher. They want the roof to be the same height as the north tower. If you remember. The Sear tower adding a antenna, 3 feet taller than the one on the North Tower in 2000. So I'd say the spire is justified.

Richard Rogers (the architect of 3 WTC) said:

"A specific memorial is obviously important. But the whole area is a memorial. The buildings are a memorial. I hope they have a very high standard so that the buildings will also be part of that memorial."

...Why not? It is related to the complex... He is an architect of one of the buildings.

I get to NYC maybe once every 10 years (last time I was there the Twins were still standing) so obviously I'm not an expert on NY architecture.

The Twins were tragically lost, but it's my opinion that what is replacing them is far better architecture, and I am looking forward to seeing the completed buildings someday.

Of course I would rather have the Twins still standing AND these new buildings (on a separate site), but history is history and it's time to move forward.

Ive just noticed with this photo here that the shadow of the pinnacle of 3WTC is spot on with the center of the west face on 1WTC. Should be more noticable when the curtin wall is up around the 60th floor.
