I kinda wish that it only tapered half way, so it was a perfect octagon at the top.

I think the same could be said about the Twins when they first went up, not quite fitting in with the surroundings.

Pardon my ignorance of this question but does anybody know how much Tower 1 will weigh when completed? Thank you.

Being regulated by the FAA just means a developer would have to work with another layer of bureaucracy in the permitting process, not that there is some kind of absolute limit to the height of structures you're allowed to build in the US. All it would mean is that you have to show that your structure isn't dangerous to established aircraft flight paths - just like you already have to show that it's not going to make any endangered species extinct, or obstruct traffic, or any of the other things insisted upon by regulatory bodies already. And even if there were a limit, in political terms that just means you have to seek an increase or an exemption: Which is pretty easy to do if you have money and aren't opposed by an equal amount of money.

Does Philipe Petit's lifetime pass to the observation deck still apply? You'd think it would.

its not only because of financial and faa regulations building buildings like the burj khalifa and other super structures that are emerging in Asia, when,it comes to western society it is and old way of thinking united states of america has noting to prove about it's financial and political power if anything i see soon in the future, the new trend will be building multipliable structures that are 1,400 to 1,500 feet tall that are around the same area.

The cladding on this building looks to be top notch!

Hopefully I be able to go back to New York soon, I assume much has changed since 2005.

Carlos, if you know, what is the tallest black building closest to you that resembles the Columbia Sea First Center?
