New York is King and London is the queen.

Looking at Goldman Sachs in that night-shot, with its annoying "dead zone" mechanical space makes me wonder how 1 WTC will look during the night–there are some pretty large mechanical floors coming up around the 90th floor. Does anybody know if there will be some manner of lighting scheme for the mechanical spaces?

I don't want to act like a mod or something, but this thread is about 1WTC and its construction, and not about which city is the best. I suggest you guys could open a thread about it?

Nice pictures as always, Otie!

Sorry for the off topic but when we go off topic we should at least get facts straight, metro NY is number 4 in the world:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._by_population

Given that New York is huge, it is located in the country with the largest economy in the world and it is very cosmopolitan (ie, lots of immigrants) I think it would be hard for any of the other cities to make a compelling case.

In 30 or 40 years it will probably be over taken in those respects by some Chinese city just as it overtook London after the US eclipsed Britain.

STR. Do you have any renderings of the WTC at night? If so, could you share them? Although I do imagine it would be difficult to make "random" lighting schemes for so many buildings.

I was querying about that a while ago on this thread. Some night renders would be something new. I dont think STR has any night renders. We would of seen them by now for sure.

I wish there were renders of it at night, too. It will be a while before there are actual pictures of it at night.

I beg your freken pardon. I am a New Yorker and to let you in one some thing, New York City at the steps of the New York Stock Exchange is where the first President of the United States George Washington took the oath of office, and Nyc is the first capital of the United States, just to educate you a bit on what some of the history and " culture" NYC is all about. Now lets get back on SUBJECT.

I cant believe the progression of Tower 1, You could practically see it from miles away.

Well, from my modest point of view the freedom tower is going to be one of the most beatiful skyscrapers of nowadays. I liked very much the design of the same which looks quite impressive if you are departing in the city by boat.
I have heard that the final height of the freedom tower will be pretty much the same of the WTC north tower, isn't it? I wish I had such beautiful building in my country too.
I hope new york get even better with this new skyscraper which for me resembles the old ones in many ways.

new york and London are both the top financial and economic and cultural cites in the world and are both great cites. know back to the subject at hand those are some awesome night renderings i heard when at night the spire will shine light around the city in different patterns and will shine in morse code the initials of new York.
