It always can be worse..They wanted it on the south side on the first place, but they get a middle finger from the PA..Then Conde wanted to give a middle finger to the PA so PA said they can have it on the north side..

And if that is not enough cubic footage of venting, then duct it to the Northeast and Northwest corners and you get twice the openings (8 in total) all without changing the look of the tower.
I'm not sure about the corners, but they sure should think harder..They could take empty restaurant space at the top or place those vents down on the 20th floor..No one would see them behind the 7WTC and Barclay..

I really hope Conde Nast does not put in that vent. However, the view from the skylobby looks great.

Well of course they could engineer something more conspicuous. This is already costing them $1 million, however.

I dunno if this is the right place to ask, so if it's not, can someone redirect me to the proper place? But what is the legal status of a skyscraper in film and art?

Say if in the future, a movie comes out, and the villains of the movie's base is in the WTC, would Mr. Silverstein (or whoever the then-owner of the WTC) be allowed to say "No. My buildings. You can't do that"? What would happen?

Again, I apologize if this is in the wrong place.

Owners can refuse the usage of their property for filming.

I was wondering this as well, and also if the new WTC will ever be a victim of a disaster movie again. NYC is the favorite location for films in this genre, but isn't destroying the new WTC a taboo?

I know this is a silly question, but will there be an underground concourse between WTC1 and the mall/transportation hub?
If so, where exactly will it be?

But they don't actually have to film in the building with todays technology.
They could just build an own set which looks for example like an office of WTC1, and make CGI representation of the facade of the building.

Is there any possibility they would and could boycott this?

I just saw "LeBron James" somewhere and quickly scrolled down. If you could be so kind and not comment on Game 6 for another day in this forum section, you'd be most kind. I can't watch it live, so i try to keep from news sites etc.

I think there might still be a copyright on using the image of the building, so I guess they COULD deny the film makers the rights, but I suspect most would just take money and give the money without question as a matter of course. If building owners were able to, or really cared what films their assets featured in there'd be far fewer terrible bargain basement city set disaster movies.

If a structure can be seen from public space, it can be filmed.
