Whats up with some of these off-color panels?
I also noticed that but I've seen the very same thing on many other buildings as the cladding went up. It was very noticeable on the Al Hamra in Kuwait as they neared the top. The colors were very different but when they got it all done they all looked the same. I don't have a clue why that happens unless there's some sort of protective covering that has to be peeled off that changes the hue.

That would probably get downscaled to two shops or something, since everything else on the site is too.

Westfield Group an Australian retail property group had a significance in the old trade center, and i think maybe in the new trade center as well.

The new mall will be spread above grade in towers 2, 3 and 4 and below grade in 2, 3, 4 and the transit hub. It's alot bigger in terms of retail space than the old mall.

That's a great idea. I think that should be a plan Or put the restaurant in tower two under the machine rooms near the top so you'd get that awesome view towards midtown again.

A bit off-topic I know but has anybody seen the new design for WTC 3? They've removed some bracing on the facade, I like it but some don't.

And I totally agree on having an outdoor obv. deck on WTC 4, that would provide a spectacular view of the Memorial and New York Harbor. Of course, keep the indoor on WTC 1, maybe a restaurant on WTC 3's roof. Someone said have a resturant on WTC 2's roof - that wouldn't go down well as the roof's sloped so all the food would fall off abd land in the memorial pools! xD

I know it's an optical illusion ...but from this angle, do you think WTC1 and Beekman tower will look the same height , almost look like 2 towers with similar height??

^ From that same spot, slightly taller Tower 1. Although Tower 2 will block it.

Wow, that is super fast - they just put vertical steel up last week so it is very early for this to go up. Plus, where is the core?

But it is nice if this starts going faster.

BTW, it is interesting that you don't have a view of 4 WTC. I wonder which building is blocking it?

4 WTC is blocked by the cluster of the Woolworth building and that hideous Jacob Javits federal building, if you look closely you can actually see the part of 4 WTC and sometimes a bit of the tip of the crane.....at the right edge of the JJ Federal building....

^Yup!
Great update, although I'm afraid that's not a perimeter column. Scaffolding still needs to rise.

That's the one thing that infuriates me about this WTC complex. How could they obstruct the view of 1 WTC, the centerpiece of the complex, from the Brooklyn Bridge? Outrageous.

i still hate the fact the 2 wtc is going to block 1 wtc view from Brooklyn especially the view form the dumbo which is such and iconic view of new york.
