Where were you in the last decade? Living in the cave? It is time for you to pay attention what is happening around the world.

Come on peeps!

Welcome to the Forums jan1! Yes this and three other towers are under-construction as the replacement for the old WTC.

Does anyone know what the exact height of 1 wtc's obsv. deck will be?

For me, the most striking thing about the above pictures is not how big it is (albeit that's a nice fact), but rather its proportions: it's so wonderfully slender. The WFC buildings, by contrast, are fairly squat, particularly graceless when juxtaposed with the growing 1 WTC.

*edit* Ok, I'm a chuffing idiot: I was opining about pictures on the previous page!

The observation deck will be at 1,362 feet (415 m) with a glass parapet extending to 1,368 feet (417 m) - the same heights as the original Twin Towers (South and North Tower respectively).

When it's easily found on Wikipedia, it's not so hard to be a little self-sufficient sometimes and find info like that on your own.

So why bother answering it like that?

Optimum1368, there is a diagram that you may find helpful when differentiating between the "two" heights.

And don't you think that you could have made it a little easier for the guy who asked? "415" is just as easy to write as "yes"

The late Zensteeldude posted that the observation deck will be at 1,266 ft / 385.9 meters. 1,362 ft is the roof height with the parapet going up another 6 feet; the observation deck is indoors so it has to be below that.

The roof height is 1368 iirc. Though I could be wrong.

Haven't you purchased that cloud-penetrating radar camera you said you were getting? At least pick up an Infrared SLR with a 1600mm lens... that's the least you could do for us slobs!

And that poor piece of steel looks so lonely. It is weird that the core scaffolding didn't go up before this piece.

With that lonely piece of steel, 1WTC has passed another milestone. I think I forgot to post the updated Lower Manhattan checklist on this thread:

There won't be an observation deck on the roof.
There's some confusion about the roof height sometimes because of the parapet and changing standards on where to measure the height from. The building doesn't sit on level ground.
