Sure am Dave! Last time I was here in 2008 it was still underground so it was great to finally see it in the flesh after following it online. Maybe next time I'm back two or three towers will be built!

From The Gothamist:

On Friday, we went down to the World Trade Center site to see how construction of 1 World Trade Center and the 9/11 Memorial is progressing. It's striking how much progress there has been since April last year, when we last visited: The plaza and 9/11 museum pavilion seem nearly complete, and 1 WTC is officially a skyscraper, rising more than 70 stories above Ground Zero and visible for miles around.

We asked Chris Ward, the Executive Director of the Port Authority, how so much had gotten done this year. Through a spokesman, he told us "We are building a city within a city. Three years ago, we decided where this project should be on the 10th Anniversary and every year after. Establish clear goals and priorities, then harness the imagination and ingenuity of our builders - that has been the path to progress." Those builders now include more than 3,000 construction workers— the most who have ever been working at the site.

Thanks for the updates Carlos. And congrats to gay pride day. I know, I'm a bit late, but better late than never. I'm a heterosexual, but I think everybody should have the same rights

can't be exact, but including the new steel, about 883 feet and 8 inches - taller than Beekman.

That one lonely piece of steel at the top brings it to the 72nd floor. 880 feet, plus about 4 more for the splice, so ~884 feet.

I can still remember when we talked about 1WTC beating 7WTC in height. And now it is so much taller than 7WTC. This giant rises so quickly, that it'll be topped out before we'll be able to say "One World Trade Center"

What lens are you using now, and what do you plan on getting, if you don't mind me asking? Your current lens looks to have a pretty strong magnification already.
