Welcome back Carlos....

I am surprised your new lens wasn't strong enough to take pictures of 1WTC from P-town.

Hi Rise.

Great idea. Much better than the basic steady blink of most beacons.

So many small details add up to make this project even better.

Anyway... I wish wtc.com would release another render of it at night. I know it won't be long before it will be completed, but still...

Was there ever any discussion about having two spires? I'm thinking they should have considered this, since they are replacing two buildings with one. It would have looked cool in a city with numerous single spired structures.

I'm from Seattle so I don't even have to say which I prefer...

But I just got back to DC from a trip to NY and entire WTC complex is already amazing. I cannot wait for the first buildings to finish and for the memorial to open. It's such a beautiful tribute to the memory of the tragedy that took place there.

No, they don´t. They are replacing it with the 1WTC and 2WTC which are not designed as twin towers

If this article was posted before, I appologize. I wonder, will there be demand for so much class A office space? Wouldn't it be better to make some class B space too? The Twin Towers were clas B iirc, right?

Quote:
Condé Nast's recent decision to lease 1 million square feet at 1 World Trade Center was hailed as a game changer for the neighborhood, something that would spark other top-tier companies to move downtown.

That may be harder to do, however, than many people realize. The truth is that the vacancy rate for Class A space in the immediate area—officially the World Trade Center submarket—is a rock-bottom 4%, according to brokerage Cassidy Turley. That is second only to the 0% vacancy rate in the SoHo/NoHo/Greenwich Village submarket, a success that owes much to the fact that there is actually only one Class A building in that submarket: a 122,000-square-foot building at 610 Broadway.

In contrast, the World Trade Center area has 10 top-drawer buildings with about 17.2 million square feet of space. A dearth of big blocks of space and cheaper rents have been driving tenants downtown, said Robert Sammons, vice president of research services at Cassidy Turley.

The average asking rent per square foot for Class A space around the World Trade Center is $62.94, but take the pricey new 7 World Trade out of the mix and the average drops to around $50, Mr. Sammons said. That is 25% less than midtown's $66.97 average. It's also a hefty 35% below the rent for an average square foot in the tony Plaza district.

Why would we want to make it look like a horned beast like some of Chicago's buildings?

Two spires would be awesome, though it does sound more like Chicago.
