Well, the federal government could save a couple of millions from their defense budget (which is too high in my opinion) to run and maintain this memorial and museum. Many London museums are free already, including really prestigious ones.

To all I had a great birthday celebration with my partner and my dear friends!!!!! Also I got 2 tix for sept 18th for the "9/11 Memorial Museum". I don't have a problem paying for them.

I woke up to this beautiful sight this morning.....

Excellent update, Carlos! It looks like they added an extra column for the next two floors again!

Not to sound arrogant, but the opinion of some guy that (I'm assuming) does not work at the pentagon or the DOD and is unfamiliar with the costs associated with this field, does not matter much.

So it is in Washington D.C., where the Smithsonian (the biggest museum complex in the world) is free.

I know it is off topic but just to clear a few things up... the $20 charge is not set in stone. That is what they would need to charge if government and other sources of funding fall through.

This whole event was the governments fault and they should pay to run it (really we the tax-payer... put my tax $$$ to good use). If the funding falls through that is what you should be mad at not the $20 charge.

I got my tickets for the memorial for September 30th. They where free but I donated $100.00 anyway. It's the least I could do as far as I'm concerned.

Anyway, keep the pics coming Carlos. They are much appreciated! You too Otie!

Is the core still square at this point, or has it changed to an octagon?

Great update Carlos! I love the new lens and I love the fact that you are giving these guys a back-story! It's like following a Soap Opera. I can hardly wait until their next installment. Will they ever find love?

So has this tower grown in height again with the perimeter columns for 75/76? It kind of looks like it, but I can't be sure

In my opinion the importance of defense budgets should never be underestimated. We live in a dangerous world. Defense is the most important department or ministry in every country, so it needs a lot of money. I think that a defense budget is never high enough.

Btw, I too can't see Carlos' pics

This is probably a stupid question, but what will happen when lightning strikes the 1 WTC spire?

I believe the spire is grounded and goes through the core to the ground.
