It's supposed to be topped out by 2012 winter and finished sometime in '13 with full cladding, spire and all.
As I have been told by friendly forumers and also backed up with some research.

Topping out is in early 2012, like February I believe.

Joking aside, there may be some point there. Sliding must be safer then running if the worst happened. Although alot of collisions would occur with people bumping into each other as there are alot of floors. I'm not sure

I love the building but I just wish it could be a lot higher cause if New York was to ever get a 600 meter building, it would be bigger than this and it would be strange not to have the icing on the cake in this part of the City (icing on the cake being the biggest building in the city)

One thing I cant wait for is when they are going to be constructing the spire.
Carlos I am counting on you to have a few good pictures of that for us buddy.
Would be great to see and wacth but unfortunatly I will be in another country but oh well there is always YouTube and Carlos.

based on comparing the above pictures with the ones that Carlos posted and analyzing how far below the side crane the cladding is it looks like Carlos should start to see a portion of the cladding in about 4 weeks.
