I don't think a strike would do substantial damage this building...

Yeah I did.

I don't know, I just get a kick out of it. This thread needs some light hearted posts, especially after the last few days...

9/11 A Decade Later: Port Authority Head Touts Progress At WTC Site
The man in charge of rebuilding the World Trade Center site took NY1 on a tour this week, to look at what has been accomplished about a month-and-a-half before the 10th anniversary of the devastating terrorist attacks. NY1's Bobby Cuza filed the following report.

At 74 stories tall, the top of One World Trade Center provides a stunning view, and the building is now certifiably enormous.

The World Trade Center, it seems, is finally taking shape, although Christopher Ward, Port Authority's executive director, warns of challenges ahead.

“There’s good news and there’s bad news. The great news is obviously the plaza," said Ward. "We never thought we would have that pavilion structure, anything more than just steel for the 10-year anniversary. As you can see, it’s basically done."

9/11 A Decade Later: Port Authority Head Touts Progress At WTC Site
The pavilion will serve as entrance to the September 11th Museum, which is not due to open until next year. T September 11th Memorial Plaza, with its twin reflecting pools and inscriptions of those lost, will be ready this September.

Further behind is the vehicle screening center, being built partly where the Deutsche Bank building once stood.

“That is, what I like to say, that’s the new memorial. That’s our new delivery," said Ward. "And you know, we’ve got a lot of hard work to get that done.”

Ward gave NY1 a wide-ranging tour of the site this week, including going up into Downtown Manhattan’s newest skyscraper. One World Trade Center is already the tallest building in Lower Manhattan, and it still has another 30 stories to go.

“Right now it is the tallest, and it’s going to soar above everything else," said Ward. "I mean, if New York loves skyscrapers, they’re going to love this building, because it is going to look impressive.”

Publishing giant Conde Nast has already signed on as anchor tenant, and interest from others means government agencies that had planned to locate in the site may need to take less space than planned.

“Two years ago, three years ago, it was just going to be government tenants, the way the original trade center was. We have such a strong market now, we don’t need that amount of government tenants,” said Ward.

Tenants are still needed to fill World Trade Center Tower 4, which is rising across the site, and Towers 2 and 3, which have yet to be built.

Regarding Carlos... He told me he's also sorry that this conflict turned into such a mess. It wasn't his intention that everybody in here goes nuts. Other than that he's fine.

Looks like he's going to return.

It is sad that Carlos left only a few days before same sex marriage started in NY state. I am sure there would have been amazing photos with posts in RAINBOW COLORS! Now that would have been quite a pick me up.

I am sure he will come back soon enough. He is well loved here and he loves skyscrapers too much.

ANYWAY staying on topic it is good to see the tower is up to 937 feet at least. And from what I read/am seeing now the glass is almost as high at 7WTC!

Did you hear about the lawsuit?

Why doesn't the official site update their Freedom Tower renderings? I'm sure that there are many who would love to get a front profile of it at night...
