The 78th floor is exactly 960 feet high. Add about 4 more feet for the column splice and 1WTC is currently 964 feet tall. Almost a supertall!

I'll start a US diagram once 1WTC beats BoA since it'll be for so long second tallest in NY with BoA passed and a long way to climb to the ESB.

Also, I'm glad that there are other folks now who make diagrams. Good job there But, IanG, could you please include the heights of the buildings in your diagram too? I'm a meter user and since there is a line every 100 feet it is hard for me to get a picture of where 1WTC exactly is in it's progress

Hehe. Yeah. Look at the base of the North Tower!

The new WTC doesn't look that bad either...

In US tallest diagram, why does Trump look shorter than ESB?

And I'm talking about the right way, including spires.

because on top of empire state buildings spire is an antenna which is not counted to the official height.

I'm interested in all the different types of tallest building metrics. There is no need to bicker over which is better. They're all meaningful depending on context. Keep the diagrams coming!

How exactly does SWFC stand on a pedestal? It has a podium, but then so do a lot of buildings? If there is one building you can't bring in to this stupid spire related argument, it's SWFC...

New steel went up yesterday (one column at least), so it will be a while again.
