What could be so terrible about the footprints being smaller to get mad or complain at? I don't see the crime anywhere.

Hey there folks, I'm back from a week long holiday at a lake, how are things going?

I'm kinda surprised they still are at 293m (78th floor). I thought that by now they would be on the 80th floor

Correct! What matters is the symbolism!

Uhm folks, I dunno but doesn't the discussion about the footprints belong into the 9/11 memorial thread?

I think some bad weather has slowed it down a bit.

That might be. I just hope this concrete worker issue isn't the problem. I dunno but from what I remember of it it was solved only temporarily

So millions of people will go there thinking they are looking at the foot prints of the old towers - and they will be wrong. This is very unprofessional work. I am surprised the families of the victims didn't put up a big fight on this. Maybe they did and I just missed it.

The PA will probably blame it on lack of space. But I don't believe that. For starters they could have gotten rid of the stupid streets they have allowed back into the WTC site.

Very poor decision for something meant to be solemn.
Oh for the love of God, WHO GIVES A CRAP?

The victims are D.E.A.D. and there is nothing "larger footprints" will do to bring them back to earth, as if they'd give a damn about the footprints either way.

What will having the exact footprint size accomplish? Correct footprints will not rewind the time to 9/11 and give us a chance to stop the towers from falling. Correct footprints will not resurrect the victims who died. I'm so over this eternal 9/11 "solemness" thing.

How many tens of thousands of people die per year by being killed by drunk drivers? Maybe we should make memorial pools circling each and every footprint of each car crushed on the highway. The highways would be one giant lake. How many tens of thousands of people are gunned down each year? Maybe we should have footprints of their bodies turned into lakes too. The world would be a giant memorial pool. Quite frankly, the family of the 9/11 victims should be happy and very honored these pools, which take up valuable real estate plots, are even being built in the first place. The PA owes them absolutely NOTHING.

People seriously need ti move on with their lives.

No, the victims of 9/11 deserve to get even far more than those pools. 9/11 was such a shocking, huge and needless catastrophe. I think that only the greatest memorial is enough becuase I think this catastrophe and it's victims should be remembered forever.

It doesn't matter how much it rains though, when it rains they can't really work, that's what the head of the project explained in a recent interview on NY1

I know that, it's only rained a day or two this week and regardless progress has been slower than any other rainy week.
