how come it is so lit up tonight? i don't recall seeing it that lit up on other nights. i thought with the hurricane they would be having the lights off in the tower and the tower shut down until it passes

Well, they'll be full of water but other than that, I don't think they could be damaged by it in any way

The hurricane will bring about a large amount of salt water to the site, possibly rusting the steel used for the memorial.
