Yes, it's there to lift steel rebars for the core..But the core should be 10 floors behind..That's how it's planed..

And again I'll dismiss this as people just grasping at straws trying to see the Twin Towers in the skyline when they are not there. Have you ever seen a pic of the Twin Towers from the Brooklyn Bridge? If so, there's no way of making a comparison, and it's kind of insulting to the former buildings to try making this comparison.

How can you insult a building?

I'm looking at the PANYNJ's webcam, and I'm thinking that before too long they'll have to move it again, so you can see 1 WTC better. Maybe they could put it on the tall, white building behind the Deutsche Bank site? (Forgot the name, sorry)

I'm really impressed by how the windows on wtc 1 look. When ur at the site, its like a mirror. U can watch clouds go against the side of it. Pretty cool.

Will it be office space or a mix of office and high cost apartments?

Imagine the views of the Hudson from the higher floors.

I'm a few pages late but there's the obelisk/washington monument angle.

@mintgum84: Only office space & retail below grade, an Observation Deck at 100 & 101th floors and a Restaurant? at 102. You'll have to wait til they open the observation deck... then you'll enjoy a full 360° panoramic view of Manhattan.

Ah, I see. Thanks for clearing that up.

Patrick, I remember you admitting on SSP that a view from the Brooklyn bridge did actually make the Beekman and 1 WTC look like twins.
